Yonkers Public Library
The library has three branches around town; all have excellent children’s libraries and fun and educational story, arts, crafts, and writing programs for children and teenagers. Movies and theater for children and teens are shown. Kids, the website has online homework help just for you!
Grinton Will & Crestwood Library Activities
The Grinton Will branch of the Yonkers Library has a fantastically decorated children’s room. Check out some of the activities that will be happening there, and at the Crestwood branch, including cool movies just for you.

Bronxville Public Library
The Library has a great kid’s department and shows kid friendly films like “Finding Nemo”; great programs include story hours and arts and crafts classes. The library also holds workshops for kids, often on music or theater.

Yonkers Youth Theater Photography Class
Yonkers Youth Theater has a great digital photography class over the summer; you learn how to take good photographs, download them onto a computer, enhance them, and print them out.

If you are serious about performing, you will be supported, challenged and delighted at this excellent youth theater, which offers a huge range of classes in the performing arts for kids and young people your age. Currently, you may take ballet, African dance, Haitian dance, hip-hop, and tap.

Yonkers Youth Theater (8 to 19)
This superb performing arts school has a great drama program, with classes for different age groups. Recent performances by kids and young people included a tribute to Martin Luther King and “Smoke, Smoke, Smoke—Don’t Believe the Hype”. The theater also has a company that brings kids together with Senior Citizens to put on inter-generational plays.
Irvington Children’s Theater
This historic local theatre has a superb children’s theatre department. You can be part of a big yearly show, usually with lots of singing and dancing, and participate in acting and improvisation classes and workshops for kids your age.
Fleetwood Stage (9 to 14)
Fleetwood Stage’s excellent PlayMakers summer conservatory serves young actors who are looking for a serious program. Students learn acting, playwriting and directing.

Bronxville Parks
There are lots of parks and places to play tennis, baseball, basketball, soccer, and other sports in Bronxville.
Bronx River Parkway Reservation
Go biking with your family along the Bronx River. On the edge of Bronxville, the park is covered in trees and green grass, and has lots of peaceful spots to picnic by the water’s edge.
Eastchester Parks
Eastchester has nine big parks and many small ones. There are fields for baseball and softball, soccer, Pony/Colt, and Little League. There are good playgrounds and tennis courts, basketball and horseshoe courts and nice picnic areas for summer barbeques.
Tibbetts Brook Park
This 161-acre park has a huge swimming pool and nice places to hike, throw balls, and have picnics; there is a playground and a fun miniature golf course as well. You can go sledding, skiing, and ice skating in winter.
Sprain Ridge Park
This 270-acre park in has three swimming pools (one with a cool water slide) and two picnic areas. You can go hiking and bike riding in the woods, exploring ravines and throwing rocks into ponds.
Lenoir Preserve
Explore the woods and fields of Lenoir Preserve with your family. A full-time naturalist is on hand at the Nature Interpretive Center to answer questions and give interesting tours.
Old Croton Aqueduct Trailway
Bike, horseback ride, walk, or ski the trailway with your friends or family; it follows the path of the aqueduct that was once used to bring fresh water into New York City from the Croton Reservoir.
Teatown Lake Reservation
Go hiking in the woods; explore Wildflower Island, paddle in or skate on the lake (depending on the time of year!), visit the Nature Center, and participate in an environmental education program with your family.
